Michael Aldrich in 1979 developed the online buying and selling of products that helped to enable the online transaction between business to consumers and business to business which was later known as e-commerce. He was able to create a version that was a modified domestic television to a real-time multi-user transaction processing computer via telephone line.The process of selling and buying of services and products on online through telecommunication devices is E-commerce/ internet business.
On August 12,1994 New York Times suggested that the internet is open and has set down the between the two friends of a sting CD. It also announced"The team of young cyberspace entrepreneurs celebrated the first retail transaction on the Internet using a readily available version of powerful data encryption software designed to guarantee privacy".
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) that was a traditional way of sending and receiving documents in a digital way in 1960 opened a way for electronic commerce. The first signification e-commerce business was started by Dr. John R. Goltz and Jeffrey Wilkings. With the continuous growth of technology, mostly of electronics first e-commerce platform was created by Boston Computer exchange. From 1992 to 2000 there were companies that started their e-commerce such as introduction of Book Stacks Unlimited in 1992 by Charles m.Stack, Amazon and e-bay in 1995.
As of now, e-commerce has rose to a high popularity through out the years with most of the large and small business going online as social media has become a large platform to increase sells and market brands.With the Covid-19 pandemic purchase decisions have changed and the habit of customers has significantly changed as well.
When did the World Wide Web come into the picture?
The World Wide Web also known as the web, WWW or W3 refers to all the public websites or pages that users can access on their local computers and other devices through the internet. These pages and documents are interconnected by means of hyperlinks that users click on for information. Rahul Awat
The history of the World Wide Web begins with the proposal of the concept of the World Wide Web in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist. He proposed a system of linking documents using hypertext, which would eventually become the World Wide Web. In 1991, Berners-Lee released the first web browser, called WorldWideWeb, which allowed users to navigate the Web using hyperlinks.The Web began to gain widespread use in the mid-1990s, and by the late 1990s, it had become a global phenomenon.

Some of the features of the World Wide Web include:
- Hypertext documents that can contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia.
- The ability to navigate between documents using hyperlinks.
- A standardized system for encoding documents using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language).
- Support for various multimedia formats, such as images and videos.
- Support for various programming languages, such as JavaScript, allowing for dynamic and interactive web pages.
- Search engines that allow users to find information quickly and easily.
- Websites, which are collections of web pages on a particular topic or purpose.
